The following download options will give you a fully functioning evaluation of the service without obligation so you can fully test the service before signing up. The evaluation is limited to 30 days and 1GB in total.

Older Standard and Bulk Accounts should download the Backup-Pro version if reinstalling.

System Requirement

Installation
  • Choose one of the versions above depending on the type of software you run on your local network and download and run it.

  • Follow the instructions on the installation wizard to complete installation

  • When finished, a new icon (Online Back Up Manager) will be installed to the system tray (near the clock) automatically and Host-it Back up will be launched automatically.

  • (optional) Enter the backup server host name in the [Address] field and press the [Next] button.

  • If you don't have a backup account, select [Trial Registration] and press the [Next] button

    1. Enter the [Login Name] and [Password] of your choice
    2. Enter your [Email address] in the text field provided
    3. Press the [Submit] button
    4. You should now be logged onto the backup server already (if the [Login Name] of your choice is already taken by another user, try a different login name)
       
  • If you have a backup account already, select [User Logon] and logon to the server with your existing username and password.

  • If this is the first time you logon to the server, you will be guided to setup a backup set

    1. Enter a backup set name of your choice in the [Name] field
    2. Select the files that you want to backup
    3. Setup the backup schedule by pressing the [Properties] button (please note that you can add multiple backup schedules to a backup set)
    4. Setup the encryption setting for your backup set (if you don't know much about encryption, just accept the default values here)
    5. Press the [Finish] button

    Scheduled backup will run automatically if you leave your computer on.

  • To run a backup immediately, select your backup set from the left panel and press the [Start Backup] button above. Select [Off-site Backup Server] and press the [OK] button.

  • Setup completed.
