You will need to allow some extra space for your retention area (ie more than one version of your data is backed up when you change/delete files). you can however control the settings for this via the software you download. The default setting is to retain files for seven days however this can be set as high as 365 days or as low as one day (or a single back up).

OTHER SPACE OPTIONS
From 20GB upwards, additional space can be added at the same rate. For example if you need 22GB of space you would purchase the 20GB plan and then via the extra features section of our panel add an additional 2GB at £2 so the total price would be £22 per month for 22GB of storage space.

SENDING THE FIRST BACK UP TO US IF IT IS VERY LARGE
Hard copy media - As only the changes within the files are sent to the back up server it is possible to back up much more data in total than your internet connection is capable of uploading within a reasonable time. This is fine once the data is uploaded but may be a problem when you upload for the first time.

If this is the case we would recommend that you consider backing up to a disk or hard drive the first time only and sending this to us if the file size is large compared to your connection speed. The alternative is that you do not select everything at once and slowly increase the amount you back up. But note that the data is compressed before being uploaded so a 100MB file will not be as large when it is uploaded any way.

The set up charge for manually doing this is calculated as the same as the monthly fee. For example 1GB would be £8.

The following is a rough guide for the maximum we would recommend uploading initially direct via the internet rather than using our software to create the first back up locally and sending this to us.
